I decided not to get meat chickens this year because I was unable to get the upgraded chicken run done.  The plan is to have a larger integrated run where my layer hens and meat chickens can all be in the same spot but separated.  Then when I’m done with the meat chickens the layers have much more space for the remainder of the year than they do now.  We’ll see where I get with the run over the course of the fall for a batch of meats in the spring.
